Personalised Disease Prediction and Prevention in Chronic Inflammatory Disorders

• Description: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are two chronic inflammatory diseases that lack risk prediction and early preventive strategies. The European research project PerPrev-CID seeks to address this gap by developing early diagnostic methods and innovative assessment tools. Through analysing clinical and molecular data of patients and at-risk individuals, the project will identify early markers and relapse predictors, while also creating digital monitoring tools like health apps and wearables. Additionally, a proof-of-concept study will test the effectiveness of a nutritional intervention targeting the tryptophan pathway. Lastly, the project aims to advance patient-centred research and clinical practice by involving patients as active stakeholders.
