Diet-Microbiome-Gut-Axis: the Effect of Microbiome Derived Nutrition Associated Metabolites on Inflammatory Processes in the Gut
Funding source: Research Council of Lithuania
Grant agreement number: S-MIP-23-101
Date: February 2023 – March 2026
Description: The aim of the project is to evaluate the associations between human nutrition, gut microbiota, and its produced metabolites, and assess the functional role of these metabolites in the inflammatory processes. The structure of this proposal is based on i) analysis of active metabolic pathways in the gut microbiota and their association with nutrition in the twin cohort; and ii) functional nutrition associated metabolite analysis in vitro by using intestinal organoid-macrophage co-culture model.
